On entering the campus through the security building, my colleagues and I were staggered to see the new 8MW 3600m2 extension framework going up in beautifully engineered wood.
When you’ve been involved in data centres as long as I have, I don’t get many surprises on these tours. However, to see this wooden, cathedral-like building going up was initially totally counter-intuitive with its 8000m2 extension framework towering over us. How can an industry so risk-averse consider a flammable material for a data centre instead of steel and concrete?
